In this feature we bring you images, info and opinions on some products
that you can find in stores right now. Unless we think that something's
totally fucking stupid and we feel like we really have to tell you
about how stupid it is, nothing that appears here will ever get a bad
review. In short: this is the best stuff.
Instead of overwhelming
you (and us) once a month with a boatload of products like we did in
our previous Buyers Blitz features, we've decided to break it up into
multiple Blips that we'll be sprinkling every week or two.
Teenage Runaway Urethane
Okay, true story: I was on Myspace, clicking around friends of friends
of Mumble and I came across what seemed like some unknown new wheel
company called Teenage Runaway. What I immediately thought of the
clever, funny, random-shit-thrown-onto-wheels company was that some
genius kid in the midwest had somehow made a batch of wheels to sell to
his friends, that I had found a diamond in the rough that I was going
to introduce to you so that you could get stoked too, and maybe help
this kid out by buying a set of wheels off of him.
So
I wrote a message to this kid saying that I thought what he was doing
was rad and I asked if he'd be interested in us doing something on his
little venture. I get a message back from the kid and it's Todd
Bratrud! The guy who's known for creating some of Consolidated's
raddest skateboard graphics over the years, among others. I felt
duped... but obviously stoked. And I was probably only "duped" by
myself because I don't pay close enough attention to the skateboard
media and perhaps the industry as a whole and I hadn't seen the ads
that Teenage Runaway has been running.
So
it's still genius. It's still a diamond in the rough. And you should
still be excited if you randomly come across these wheels in a shop.

Clark rides for Teenage Runaway, that's the connection.
