In May of 2003 I was lucky to tag along with Stereo
Skateboards for a skate trip to London and Paris. We did an artshow at
a gallery in Shoreditch, London and then traipsed around the city for a
week, moving on to Paris for another week of skating. I always find
that when I travel I end up taking more photos of architecture than of
people, and I almost never have photos of myself. I think it works out
this way because I'm more interested in documenting the environment
that experiences happened in, rather than the experiences themselves.
Those are the memories that stand strong, and they rarely ever measure
up when you try to take photos of them. Here's what we saw in the
summer of 2003. - Matt Irving
