It's commonplace for magazine and newspapers, when they feature Tommy Guerrero, who had popularity in the 80's and 90's as a professional skateboarder, to make analogies like "from popping ollies on a half pike to riffing the 6 string" or to talk about how he "traded in his dazzling kickflips for sick guitar licks". It's almost expected, really. And while it's painfully obvious and, granted, a little bit cheesy, we'd still like to make one comparison of our own, and that is of Tommy's signature smooth style of skating the streets of San Francisco to the music that he produces which somehow reflects a very similar style, as if he'd traded in one shred stick for another. If you're familar with his skating and haven't listened to his music, you should, because you'd most likely enjoy it. If you're familiar with his music and haven't seen his skating, you should take a look back and see what you missed.

From dazzling the half pike to riffing the 6 string, here are Tommy Guerrero's 8 favorite songs of all time.
